Servicemen Ben White hailed a HERO! In Johnson City.

Wow. I’m almost in tears. The streets are lined with people, flags, and patriotism. Ben White is a hero and people from all over have come to support him and his family.

Zach Wamp took another stab at Bill Haslam’s business record,
“I’m not going to take credit for what my Dad and brother have done.” (click here for article)
He continues to tweet about class warfare as he did in the middle of the dinner, “clear choice-true conserv vs wealthy establ guy.” You read that correct. Zach Wamp has condensed his ‘super rhetoric’ into small, bite size, 140 character nuggets of…illegible conundrums.
The other day he mentioned that this was the “silly season” and that “From here on, people will say things they don’t even believe about each other, and then one person wins, and they get to serve.”
Has Zach Wamp left Ron Ramsey and Bill Haslam to enter the “silly season” by himself?
Zach Wamp has been under fire recently for his cozy relationship to AkinsCrisp. Ron Ramsey commented on the issue in a release earlier this month. “I’ll just say I’ve always thought it didn’t pass the smell test in the fact that there was an awful lot of money coming from Washington, D.C., that ended up getting to (public relations firm) Akins-Crisp,”
What was Lt. Gov. Ron Ramsey referring to? Here’s a quick rundown of recent coverage on the issue:
Does it pass the smell test? What do you think?
Sad news. Kingsport Times News reports that Lynn Ramsey, 76, of Blountville, died at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center at Mountain Home.
I have no idea why we haven’t heard more about this race. Dale Ford is running for re-election against Republican challenger Kevin Flanary. This article highlights some of what Rep. Ford has accomplished.
Wamp had the lowest cash on hand of any candidate last reporting period. Haslam had almost double at $3.5 million compared to Wamp’s $2.1 million. Furthermore, Ramsey has been in session last quarter which makes me think he can only be gaining momentum. It’s hard to believe the claims Sachs Wamp is making.
This is a letter posted in JC Press on Friday, June 4.
I am a native of Jonesborough and an inmate at Washington County Detention Center. I am a Christian who fell away from the Lord and went down a path of drugs and alcohol.
I am a recovering addict who has redevoted my life to Christ. I am armed only with my childhood Bible in this incarceration, which may lead to prison.
I am currently trying to hold Bible study with other inmates and could use the community’s help.
On very rare occasions outsiders come in and share the word but mostly it’s left to us few inmates who want to share the word with others.
I am writing the Christian community as a whole in hopes that you will send literature, religious books with direction and maybe Sunday school lesson books to help me and my fellow incarcerated Christians in our journeys.
I could also use some inspirational words of wisdom. I have four children and a family who I am going to be lost to for a few years but I pray I come home a new man walking with Christ.
With your help I may even be able to share and help with spreading the word and literature you send with others in this jail.
Pray for me and send your letters and literature to Reginald Leach, c/o Washington County Detention Center, P.O. Box 97, Jonesborough, TN 37659. Please help me to help myself and others. REGGIE LEACH Washington County Detention Center Jonesborough
The irony of Bluff City Police Department losing their website is priceless. Brian McCrary is now the proud owner of http://www.bluffcitypd.com. Bluff City forgot to renew their site and McCrary took advantage. He now touts statistics on why traffic enforcement cameras are a bad idea.
With all of the bad press the city has had to deal with lately, its a wonder Brian hasn’t become their mayor. Although, with the change you can make as a concerned citizen, why should he?
Brian McCrary for Mayor!
Great article about the back and forth saga of our city and schools budgets.
Lawmakers are reacting but is spending really slowing? I don’t think so. Here’s an interesting read on how DC is reacting though.
